quotes If you ride XC or All Mountain (so not you gorgefreerider), adjustable seatposts are second on the list of most important inventions for the mountain bike since the first basic rigid off-road bikes. The list goes something like this (for me) in order of importance: 1. clip-in pedals 2. on-the-fly adjustable height seatposts 3. disc brakes 4. front suspension 5. 29 inch wheels 6. rear suspension *This list is for XC and All Mountain and would obviously different for Downhill or Freeride.

quotes And here is a close up of the MAXXIS HIGH ROLLER just so you can see that he isn't using Panaracer tires, even though he has Signature tires made by Panaracer.

quotes The point of the grippy seat is so if you blow your feet off the pedals on a corner or something and it is muddy when your butt lands on the seat (if it does at all) there is a better chance that it won't slip off. If you need an example of someone blowing their feet off the pedals on a corner and slipping off the seat and then being towed superman-like behind their bike check out some of the 2009 World Cup footage; I believe Sam Blenkinsop does this exact thing in one of the practice videos (I don't have a link, sorry).
